Service & Community Engaged Learning Orientation Module

Welcome to the orientation videos for your field experience. This is information crucial towards completing your field experience! Please pay attention as this is for your benefit. This should not take more than 25 minutes and you can alter the speed according to your personal comprehension speed.

STEPS TO COMPLETE ORIENTATION

1) Watch the required videos

  • Watch the Introduction (3:28)
  • Watch Expectations and Choosing a Site (3:38)
  • Watch Orientations, Communication, and Hour Reporting (5:28)
  • Watch Evaluations and How to Succeed (5:15)
  • Watch Next Steps, Problem Solving, & Troubleshooting (5:13)

2) Pass a comprehension check (“impact”)

  • Return to your “*Service & Community Engaged Learning Orientation Module” home page
  • Follow the instructions to submit your Impact, answer the questions under “Requested Information”

Once you have watched each video, head back to your GivePulse Module and submit an Impact through the “*Service & Community Engaged Learning Orientation Module” home page. The Impact button is in the upper right corner of your screen. DO NOT submit an Impact through your course page. Please only answer the Impact questions under “Requested Information”

3) Register for your site

  • Allow 3 days for the CEL to verify your Impact
  • Once verified, you can register for a site

After you have submitted your Impact, Community Engaged Learning will review your answers and approve or deny your completion. Once you have been approved, you will be able to register on the registration date for your course. Please look through the list of opportunities and mentally select a site before the day of. If you have questions, please ask them on the day of your registration.
